Last year, we decided to help the children in one Moscow children's home celebrate New Year. Improvised Christmas trees in the office kitchens were decorated with cards from the children, saying what gifts they wanted. A few hours later, all the cards had been taken and people were suggesting buying second and third presents! We set off for the children's home lugging a big bag of gifts. The children were treated to a New Year's performance that had been rehearsed in the evenings after work, with all the stars decked out in home-made costumes.
