28 December 2018 Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner (Russia) LLP has advised Miratorg on acquisitions in Russia’s Oryol Region

Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner (Russia) LLP, formerly Goltsblat BLP in Russia, has advised Miratorg, Russia’s biggest vertically integrated agribusiness, on acquiring a 100% stake in RAV Agro Oryol Region based companies from PPF Group.

The acquisitions will greatly boost Miratorg’s raw material base for local enterprises as the land bank growth will be accompanied by launch of new processing capacities (a feed mill and an oil extraction mill).

The dedicated team of Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner (Russia) LLP was led by Anton Sitnikov, Partner, Head of Corporate / M&A, and included Associate Director Vera Gorbacheva and Senior Associates Oksana Orlovskaya and Dimitri Antipin from Corporate / M&A.

Anton Sitnikov comments: “We are delighted to have been involved in this major cross-regional project of great value for our client. We thank Miratorg for placing their trust in us and wish them continued success, prosperity and growth on Russia’s agricultural market.”

Alexander Krasnov, Head of Legal, Miratorg: “It has been a pleasure working with Anton’s team on this project. BCLP’s talented, result-driven and client-orientated lawyers drafted and negotiated the agreement in a speedy and professional manner and on well-balanced terms suiting both parties.”

Founded in 1995, Miratorg is the biggest producer of pork and beef and a leading meat supplier on the Russian market, ranking first among companies in the sector by revenue. Miratorg is a vertically integrated agricultural company with a complete in-house production cycle, from crop farming to meat processing to product sales through a branded retail chain.
