Advised Uralkali, one of the world’s largest potash producers, on its global review of employment arrangements. The comprehensive review covered a number of jurisdictions on most of the continents relevant to operations of the client.

Comprehensive assistance in implementing the global corporate restructuring of the Freight One (the largest freight rail operator in Russia)’s business (merger of companies within one group) in relation to employment matters.

Labour dispute against a former CEO in one of the legal entities of Freight One Group, the largest freight rail operator in Russia, who claimed severance payment amounting to 500 monthly salaries (over 500,000 USD). The case included both employment and criminal aspects. The employee’s claim was fully rejected.

Successfully represented TEVA in labour disputes over accrual and payment of regional coefficients and percentage allowance over and above employee salaries in 3 regions (northern hardship bonus payment).

Successfully represented the interests of Freight One Company in the court of appeal in an employment dispute with a former employee made redundant.

Advised Mars on its employment matters in Russia, including post-merger employment advice: supporting Mars in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan in a global outsourcing transaction between Mars and Wrigley on transfer of IT services; strategy development; full legal documentary support (agreements between companies, transfer of employees, advice on all related employment issues), including cross-border transfers covering Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan, each of which has its own set of employment regulations; advised on additional pension schemes, the possibility of transferring allocated pension amounts and the rights of transferred employees and helped structure the compensation and benefit package replacing some existing benefits. Immigration issues were also involved.

Advised the X5 Retail Group on labour legislation, including regarding introduction of an incentive scheme (forms of bonus payment and certain aspects of bonus payment criteria) for a specific category of employees.

Advising Mars on development of legal protection and provision for safekeeping of the employer’s property against unsanctioned access by employees.

Full support in all matters relating to union operation for Danone, Volkswagen Group Rus, Direct Group.

Legal support Ruscam with respect to internal restructuring of staff within the framework of reorganisation and liquidation of several Russian legal entities (transfer and dismissal  of employees, change of employment conditions, transfer of foreign employees and obtaining the relevant work authorisation documents).

Advising Saint-Gobain, GE Healthcare on labour protection, payment of benefits, compensation and mark-ups for harmful and hazardous working conditions and on the procedure for investigating industrial accidents.

Comprehensive support for and assistance with performance of the procedure for Dr.Reddy’s Laboratories staff reduction of employees working “remotely” (from home) in one of the Russian regions, which included preparing the plan and set of documents for the staff reduction, provision of advice on the employees’ notification on the forthcoming reduction taking into account the “remote” character of the work, as well as communications with the employees. The project also included successful representation and protection of the company’s interests in court against employees challenging their dismissal.

Full support in all matters relating to union operation for Danone, Volkswagen Group Rus, Direct Group. Communication with union leaders, participation in collective bargaining agreements and successful representation of clients in litigations relatingd to union activities.

Advised Russia's biggest generating company on payment of ”golden parachutes” to the General Director and members of the Management Board (by request of the Sintez Group).

Legal support for personnel restructuring in connection with relocation of the production base of a division of Kraft Foods Rus LLC. The legal support included, inter alia, elaboration of legal restructuring options, preparation and auditing of supporting documents, risk analysis, advice on how to apply regional agreements, collective bargaining agreements, and interaction with trades unions;

Legal support on all labour, immigration and pension law matters for all units of Mars, Royal Canine.

Advice to Chevron on proper structuring of employment relations with the company’s Russian staff working in other countries.

Participation in resolving a labour dispute between CJSC Wild Orchid and one of its Top-managers. The project included developing a strategy for terminating the employment relations, negotiating and agreeing the optimal form of dismissal of the employee

Successful representation of the interests of JSC Mosenergo, JSC Sheremetyevo International Airport, Mars, Kronospan, Thomson Reuters, Quattro Gemini, Danone, Kimberly-Clark  in labour litigations relating to unfair dismissal and provision of additional guarantees.

Advice to the Redwood Group on termination of employment relations with a Top-manager, mediation of the labour conflict.

Advice to 20th Century Fox on termination of employment relations with key employees, mediation of the labour conflict.

Development of work patterns for some employee categories for Weatherford. The project included assessment of the employees’ working conditions, comparative legal analysis of existing work schedules, development of recommendations from the comparative analysis regarding the optimum work schedule and organisation, and full documentary support for implementation of the work pattern elaborated;

Successful representation of the interests of one of the biggest transportation companies in a labour dispute brought by a former General Manager on the grounds of unfair dismissal. We succeeded in protecting the client’s interests in court and won a counter-claim for compensation for damage caused by illegal actions on the part of the General Manager.

Advice to CJSC Alrosa Diamond Company on how to organise rotational work, on wages and classification of pension payments from a private pension fund in a court dispute on tax issues.

Representation of the interests of and advice to MC Logistic, Meryll Lynch, Mars on auditing compliance with labour law and labour protection requirements.

Advice to Sick AG on a system of non-state pensions, retirement plans and programmes, preparation of a general review of non-state pensions.

Advice within the scope of a project for protecting the confidential information of Air Charter Services in Moscow. The project included developing measures to protect sensitive information, drawing up the requisite documents and monitoring implementation of an information security system within the company;

Advice to Sakhalin Energy within the scope of a major project to investigate a labour conflict (whistle-blowing).

Advice to BP, Nissan, Volkswagen on processing employee personal data in the international communications between different offices.

Advice to Lafarge on general aspects of the labour and immigration legislation in connection with the launch of an international project in the Russian Federation; participation in the negotiations; development of recurrence schemes for employing foreign manpower.

HR audit on the hiring of foreign citizens and observance of the immigration and labour legislation (including employment, immigration and visa issues) for the Schlumberger Group. Assessment of the legal risks and development of recommendations for eliminating them, and subsequent advice.

Advice to Maersk on compliance with the immigration and labour legislation, in particular, hiring of foreign personnel.
