Acted for Delo Group, one of the largest private transportation and logistics holding companies in Russia comprising port assets in the Azov-Black Sea, Baltic and Far Eastern basins and rail and multimodal operator of containerised cargo, during consideration of Global Ports’ application seeking to challenge  the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia (FAS) compliance order to switch to RUB tariffs. The order was issued in early 2018 due to Delo’s acquisition of a share in Global Ports. Arguments were provided supporting the fact that Global Ports has fulfilled the requirements of the FAS order on pricing policy (as was subsequently confirmed by the FAS). As a result, Global Ports withdrew its application.

Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner (Russia) LLP successfully challenged a Fine of USD 16 m imposed by the FAS on FREIGHT ONE

Advised HyperGlobus on various antitrust/trade law matters in connection with the Russian antimonopoly authorities inspection. In particular, we undertook a limited antitrust audit of current HyperGlobus’ activity in view of pending inspection within a tight deadline.

Advised Johnson & Johnson’s medical devices division on competition law compliance and trade terms development.

VimpelCom – represented the client in a dispute with the Russian Federal Anti-monopoly Service (FAS) on a charge of concerted actions by the so-called Big Three mobile operators

Russian Platinum Group - advised on a number of strategic and tactical aspects of a project to develop one of the world’s largest mineral deposits, including support and representation on a number of disputes with the local authorities and in Federal Antitrust Service.

Advised McAfee/ Intel in relation to its $389 m acquisition of StoneSoft, a Finland-based leading innovator in the next-generation network firewall products.

Novorosiysky Grain Terminal - Represented the client in a ligitation case on challeging the Russian anti-trust body decision accusing of in violation of competition laws (monopoly high price for grain loading).

Shell - advised on competition law in relation to a joint venture set up in the pipeline trasportation industry.

Transnefteproduct - represented the client in anti-monopoly cases concerning access to its pipeline

A major Korean car producer – represented the client before the FAS in relation to the licensing of car production

A major Japanese car producer – successfully represented the client before the FAS on matters relating to pricing policy; advice and successful representation of the client on regulatory matters in distribution relations

A major global manufacturer of household appliances and medical equipment – successfully represented the client in a case initiated by the FAS regarding improper advertisements

Leading Russian and foreign companies - advised on the anti-monopoly rules applicable to acquisition of shares and assets in Russia, as well as supporting acquisition clearance by anti-monopoly authorities globally

Mars, Reckitt Benckiser and other leading companies from various industries – analysed distribution contracts to establish their compliance with anti-monopoly law

A leading global producer of sports articles – advised on anti-monopoly legislation, distribution policy, (implementation of the European model ); and amendments to a marketing services contract

A leading German car producer – advised on antimonopoly legislation covering dealership agreements and complex issues relating to transfer of the business to another region of the RF, and analysis of the terms of financial services and related contracts offered by a subdivision of the client with respect to their compliance with anti-monopoly law

Sheremetyevo International Airport - participated in developing the tender documentation for tenders held by the company aimed at obtaining funds for design, construction and installation works

Chevron Corporation – advised on aspects of economic concentration under EU law in relation to the establishment of a joint venture engaged in natural gas production in the USA, as well as the competition-related implications of concluding a long-term contract for supplying gas to the USA, and creating a joint venture for petroleum product production and reforming

Major European electronics manufacturer - advised on anti-trust compliance, EU trade and customs law, compliance with the WEEE and RoHS Directives, and distribution issues involving various electronic components

Danone, Mars and other major FMCG producers – representation of clients’ interests in the central and territorial departments of the Federal Antimonopoly Service in cases concerning presumed agreements and/ or concerted actions,daily advice on antitrust matters in development of agreements, marketing and advertising campaigns.
